A dream home in the heart of the Old Town — and yet wonderfully peaceful. Casa Fonte dos Mouros is our personal holiday house, which we have lovingly lived in and maintained since November 2011. Bars, restaurants, and shops are all within walking distance; evenings belong to the patio, the terrace, or the open fireplace.
This heritage-listed house was carefully restored, blending historic charm with modern comfort: underfloor heating, air conditioning, designer fittings with a glass staircase, and a spacious passenger lift. The heated pool with outdoor shower is available from March to October. Books, CDs, and comfortable seating complete the picture.

The house stands right beside Tavira's illuminated town wall. Phoenicians, Romans, and Moors all left their mark here: in the Roman bridge, the Moorish Castelo, the patrician houses with Renaissance façades, and the 38 churches and chapels that make Tavira a unique place of sacred architecture in southern Portugal.
The entire house — including courtyard and terraces — is step-free on all three levels. All doorways are at least 80 cm wide, and a generously sized lift connects every floor.
